How Should I Prepare for Liposuction Revision?

Once you have scheduled your liposuction revision procedure, your surgeon at Aeris will provide you with a set of detailed pre-operative instructions. These may differ according to your concerns and medical history, but following them is crucial for optimizing your safety and results. In general, you may be directed to:

Procedure

Your Aeris surgeon will perform your liposuction revision procedure as an outpatient procedure, meaning you will likely not need to spend the night in the hospital. The duration of your procedure will vary depending on its complexity, but you can expect it to take between one and four hours. Before beginning your procedure, your surgeon will cleanse your skin. You will then receive the appropriate anesthesia to keep you comfortable.

Your surgeon will place a small incision near your targeted treatment area(s) and inject the local fat with a tumescent fluid. This is a solution of anesthesia and epinephrine that will further numb your tissues and swell your fat cells. This makes it easier to remove them while simultaneously reducing any damage to the surrounding soft tissues. ⁽³⁾ Your surgeon will then insert a cannula through this same incision. They will use the cannula to carefully liquefy and suction out the fat from specific regions of your figure, resculpting it in the process. Recovery

After a liposuction revision, you will need to take some time away from your professional and social commitments.
